Polishing and Finishing

Polishing is the step that reveals the full brilliance of a kintsugi repair. Abrasive papers, sumiko charcoal powder and tonoko are used to refine the different layers of lacquer before the final application of gold, resulting in a smooth surface and a clean, even gold line.
