Tokusa , or Japanese horsetail , is traditionally used as a polishing tool in Kintsugi . Naturally fine, flexible, and slightly abrasive, its surface allows for precise finishing work without damaging the ceramic.
Used after the various stages of repair with Urushi , Tokusa helps to smooth and gently polish surfaces , while preserving the contours and aesthetics of the restored piece.
A natural alternative to sandpaper, it is particularly appreciated for delicate work and finishing in traditional Japanese Kintsugi .
