WHO AM I?
Didier Faillères,
the soul of Kintsugi Art
A kintsugi craftsman trained in Japan, founder of the Kintsugi Art workshop in Bordeaux. A life dedicated to passing on an ancient technique: repairing with gold rather than concealing the break.
Didier Faillères
FOUNDER - KINTSUGI ART
"I didn't learn to repair objects. I learned to honor their history."
THE COURSE
From an encounter with Japan to the Bordeaux workshop
THE TURNING POINT
A first encounter with kintsugi
Before kintsugi, there were other disciplines of beauty and precise technique, such as professional makeup and painting. They all shared the same demand for rigor and patience, which finds its most fitting expression in ceramics repaired with gold.
NARA KYOTO JAPAN
Learning from kintsugi masters
It was in Nara and Kyoto, under the tutelage of a master lacquerer, that the traditional technique of urushi was deepened and with it, the concept of wabi-sabi, which unites aesthetic refinement and spirituality.
THE RETURN
To introduce Marseilles expertise, then Japanese expertise in Bordeaux.
Back in France, the link between makeup, painting and ceramics was naturally woven, three disciplines that share the same quest for authentic beauty, which is the foundation of the Kintsugi Art workshop.
TODAY
Kintsugi Art®, a lifelong learning experience.
A registered trademark with the INPI and the EUIPO, a workshop that trains individuals, professionals and companies, and a shop selling authentic materials imported directly from Japan.

WHAT GUIDES THE WORKSHOP
Three commitments
Authenticité
Laque urushi et poudres d'or véritables, importées directement du Japon , jamais de résine époxy ni de raccourci de synthèse.
Transmission
Training courses designed for individuals as well as professionals, faithful to the techniques learned from Japanese masters.
Patience
Each repair follows the long curing time of the lacquer, weeks, sometimes months, rather than the speed of an industrial process.
