Wet sandpaper for Kintsugi – Grit 400 to 2000

SKU PA.ABR.KINT

Kintsugi wet/dry sandpaper is used to prepare, correct and smooth surfaces during the various stages of a restoration.

Thanks to its use with water, it allows for finer and more regular sanding, particularly suitable for working with ceramics, Urushi lacquer and finishing coats .

The choice of grain depends on the stage of work: preparation, correction or fine finishing.

Use of different grains

Grains #400 to #800
Suitable for shaping and preparing surfaces. They allow you to correct irregularities, level worked areas and prepare the surface before the following steps.

Grain #2000
Designed for very fine finishes. It is particularly suitable for the delicate sanding of intermediate layers of Urushi lacquer , for example before the finishing stages of Kuro Roiro .

Use in Kintsugi

Wet sandpaper allows you to work the surface gradually without removing too much material. It is particularly useful for:

  • leveling a filling,
  • smooth out a repair,
  • prepare a layer before the next application,
  • correct minor irregularities,
  • to obtain a smooth surface before the finishing stages.

Using the appropriate grain for each step results in a more even surface and facilitates traditional Kintsugi and Urushi lacquer finishes.
