Broussonetia Urushi Filter Paper – Made in Japan
This traditional Japanese Urushi filter paper is specially designed for filtering Urushi lacquer before application, helping to remove dust, fine debris and other impurities that could affect the quality of the finished surface.
Made from Broussonetia (paper mulberry) fibres, the paper originates from the upper reaches of the Yoshino River in Nara Prefecture, Japan, an area with a long tradition of Japanese papermaking.
Its fine yet strong structure makes it particularly suitable for filtering Urushi. The paper helps produce a cleaner, more homogeneous lacquer, while remaining resistant enough for practical use during the filtration process.
It is particularly useful for kintsugi, Maki-e and traditional Japanese Urushi lacquerwork, where clean lacquer is essential for precise application and refined finishing.
