This grey Shino chawan , delicately marbled with brown, comes from the Kikusen Genhiko kiln. Its nuanced and irregular surface gives it the characteristic features of traditional Japanese ceramics.
It was restored using the traditional kintsugi technique, with finishes made with gold powder , which highlight the fracture lines and emphasize the history of the piece.
This bowl is sold with its wooden tomobako box, accompanied by an elegant protective pouch in red and gold silk , handmade from antique kimonos . The set also includes four silk packing strips , designed to hold and protect the chawan inside its case.
