Keyaki is a finely ground zelkova (Japanese elm) wood powder, used to prepare Kokuso urushi , one of the three essential traditional mixtures in Kintsugi, alongside Mugi urushi and Sabi urushi .

Kokuso is a solid mixture, ideal for filling large cracks and restoring chipped pieces . Prepared similarly to Mugi urushi and applied like Sabi urushi , it is an essential material for lasting repairs.
