Bengara Urushi is a traditional Japanese lacquer packaged in 30ml sachets.
It is used in kintsugi as a base for applying gold powder or as a final layer. In some cases, it allows for repairs in the Tametsugi style, characterized by the absence of gold or silver on the restoration lines.

About the pigment:
The term bengara refers to a dark red pigment composed primarily of iron oxide. Its name comes from Japanese and refers to the Bengal region (India), from where this pigment was introduced to Japan.

The Bengara Urushi is therefore an essential element for making authentic, understated and elegant repairs in the art of kintsugi.
