Program

A complete 5-day training course, with two options to choose from:

→ In groups : from Friday to Thursday (excluding weekends)

Personalized support : 1 to 2 people, dates to be agreed upon together


Why start on a Friday?

Starting on a Friday allows you to tackle the first technical steps (preparations, application of urushi) before the weekend. This break promotes optimal drying and guarantees a smooth and progressive learning process, respecting the natural constraints of urushi lacquer.


Personalized support

Flexible dates, to be scheduled over a three-month period according to your availability. Courses can be scheduled over five consecutive days or spread out over time.

Each rate includes a professional takeaway box:

Lacquers, brushes, spatula, brass powder, earth, waterproof sandpaper, Tonoko powder, sleeves, bowl, etc.

Ideal for continuing to practice urushi kintsugi at home.

Detailed program

Supervised by Didier Faillères , the course follows a step-by-step progression:



Day 1: Reconstruction


Learning the mugi urushi mixture and its application to the fragments. Assembling the broken pieces and drying in a muro (a handcrafted drying chamber).



Day 2: Filling, polishing and shaping



Filling cracks or gaps with the sabi mixture (Jinoko clay + urushi). Beginning of the aesthetic harmonization of the piece.




Days 3 & 4: Kuro roiro lacquer work


Fine application, sanding and smoothing of the black lacquer on the fracture lines, in preparation for the final stage. bengara .





Day 5: Application of keshifun



Application of red lacquer e urushi (bengara) and introduction to the application of golden powder keshifun .

Trainees use a gold-plated brass powder close to gold to practice, before moving on, if they wish, to real gold during an advanced training course ( Master Class ).
