Terms and Conditions of Sale – Kintsugi Urushi Training

1. Purpose
Kintsugi Art offers training sessions in the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi Urushi. These sessions take place in a workshop setting, either in group classes or private lessons. The aim is to familiarize participants with the materials, tools, natural lacquers, and metallic powders used in this ancestral technique.
2. Prerequisites
No specific technical skills are required. However, participants agree to comply with safety rules related to the use of urushi lacquer, which may cause skin allergies.
3. Training Objectives
The training provides a step-by-step approach to traditional Kintsugi Urushi over 5 days, including:

Introduction to the philosophy and aesthetics of Kintsugi

Use and preparation of mugi urushi and sabi

Cleaning and bonding broken ceramic pieces

Application and sanding of black lacquer

Introduction to red lacquer and gold powder application

Final polishing and finishing
By the end of the training, the participant should be able to repair a broken ceramic using the traditional urushi lacquer method. Kintsugi Art does not guarantee results, but commits to providing all necessary educational materials as described in the training offer.
4. Duration
The training lasts five consecutive days (excluding weekends).
5. Access and Registration
Registration is completed via the online form on the Kintsugi Art website. A confirmation and practical details will be sent by email before the start of the training.
Training is conducted in person at the specified workshop location.
Payment terms are provided upon registration.

7. Safety – Urushi Lacquer
Urushi lacquer, used in this training, can cause allergic skin reactions. The instructor provides all necessary protective equipment (gloves, masks, lab coat) along with safety guidelines.
The participant agrees to strictly follow these safety rules. Failure to do so releases Kintsugi Art from any liability.
8. Evaluation Methods
Participants are assessed based on the internal evaluation criteria of Kintsugi Art to verify skills acquisition throughout the course.
9. Teaching Methods
Educational methods include visual demonstrations, guided exercises, and hands-on workshops.

Our training location is accessible by public transport, with bus stops and stations suitable for individuals with reduced mobility.
11. Cancellation
Kintsugi Art reserves the right to cancel a training session due to insufficient registrations or other exceptional circumstances. In such cases, the full registration fee will be refunded.
12. Non-affiliation to public certification systems
Kintsugi Art training programs are not certified by the CPF (CPF – the French Individual Training Account system), Qualiopi, or other public or institutional training funding organizations.
